For patients that have missing or broken teeth, dental implants are a great permanent solution for replacing those teeth. A dental implant looks and feels like a natural tooth. It’s also actually more conservative because you’re not having to rely on the teeth on either side of it like you would with a bridge.

With dental implants, we’re also able to offer other restorative options than just single teeth. Dental implants can be utilized with dentures to help with their retention. A lot of people have problems with their dentures staying in place or moving around and rubbing sores, and dental implants can help fix that problem.

Dental implants can also be used for full mouth rehabs. If someone is missing all of their teeth, we actually have the capability and the technology to use implants to screw in a fixed bridge that is a permanent solution. Our tooth roots actually help keep the bones in our jaws in the proper position. When we are missing a tooth or we lose a tooth, that bone is going to begin to shrink over time, and implants can actually act as the root of our tooth and help retain that bone where it needs to be. Using dental implants to help retain a denture or a fixed bridge can eliminate having to use the gooey adhesive that many patients don’t like to use.

When a patient first comes into our office, we’re going to do a thorough exam and make sure that we address the root of the problem. If a patient needs a dental implant, we’re always going to start with a 3D X-ray. That allows us to really see how much bone we have and see all the anatomical structures within the jaws. So that way, we know exactly how far away we are from the nerves, how far away we are from the sinuses, and we’re able to be more precise in our placement. If you have broken teeth or are missing teeth, feel free to call our office today for a complimentary consultation.
