Restorative Services

Restorative Dentistry

Our goal is to have our patients leave with a bright, confident smile. Sometimes that requires restorative dentistry, which refers to any dental procedure that repairs or even replaces a tooth. If you’ve ever had a simple cavity filling, you’ve gone through a restorative dentistry procedure. Other types of restorative dentistry include root canals, crown placement procedures and dental implants.

At our Oklahoma City dentist office, we are prepared to provide the best restorative dentistry for our patients.

Composite Fillings

Dental fillings are by far the most common restorative dental procedure. When bacteria invade the enamel, which is the hard outer layer of your tooth, it can create a cavity. With a dental filling procedure, our dentists will remove the damaged part of the tooth and fill the cavity to protect your tooth from more damage.

Root Canals

If cavities aren’t caught early and are allowed to worsen, the damage done often requires a root canal. A root canal is needed when a cavity goes deep enough into the tooth that it exposes the soft pulp of the interior of the tooth. A root canal can also be necessary after an injury to the tooth. Typically, the reason for a root canal is that the inside of the tooth is infected.

During the procedure, our dentist will clean out the soft pulp from the inside of the tooth, rinse out the infection, and then fill the inside of the tooth with a similar material that is used in a cavity filling. A root canal prevents the tooth from becoming infected again and the tooth is saved. Our office can handle root canals in Oklahoma City.
